Mountain biking involves risk. This service provides an automated starting point based on the information you enter. It is not a mechanical inspection, safety certificate, manufacturer instruction or guarantee against accident, injury, component damage or loss.
1. About the service
SkillsLoop Bike Setup is supplied by SkillsLoop LTD (“SkillsLoop”, “we”, “us”). It generates an automated bike-setup report using the rider, bike, tyre, suspension and riding information provided by the customer. The service does not include human review, live coaching, mechanical work or inspection of the bicycle.
2. One purchase, one bike
Each £24.99 purchase is for one named customer and one specific bicycle. The resulting setup and access must not be transferred, resold, shared as a commercial service or reused to generate reports for other bicycles. A separate purchase is required for each additional bike.
3. Your information
You are responsible for entering complete and accurate information, including rider weight in normal riding kit, bike specification, tyre construction, wheel and rim details, suspension model, travel and adjustment ranges. Recommendations may be unsuitable if information is missing, estimated or incorrect.
4. Starting points, not fixed settings
All pressures, sag figures, damping positions and cockpit suggestions are starting points for controlled testing. Manufacturer limits, manuals, safety notices and component markings always take priority. Never exceed a limit printed on a tyre, rim, fork, shock or other component. Where the tool conflicts with manufacturer guidance, stop and follow the manufacturer’s guidance.
5. Mechanical safety
Before riding, you must ensure the bicycle is safe, correctly assembled and maintained. Check wheels, axles, brakes, steering, tyres, pressures, suspension fasteners and controls. Do not use the service to diagnose structural damage, brake faults, loose components, leaking suspension or any condition requiring a qualified bicycle mechanic. If you are unsure, do not ride until the bike has been inspected.
6. Testing changes safely
Make one adjustment at a time and test it progressively in a low-risk environment before increasing speed or difficulty. Record the original settings so they can be restored. Suspension adjusters must be counted gently without forcing them past their stops. Stop riding if handling becomes unpredictable or any component behaves unusually.
7. Digital content and delivery
The setup is digital content supplied immediately after the required information and acceptance are provided. Before generating the report, customers are asked to expressly request immediate supply and acknowledge that the statutory cancellation right is lost once supply of the digital content begins. This does not affect rights where digital content is faulty, not as described or otherwise fails to meet applicable consumer law.
8. Digital declaration and signature
Before a setup is generated, the customer must complete the safety declaration, accept these terms and type their full legal name. Selecting “Sign and build my setup” confirms an intention to apply that typed name as an electronic signature. The service retains the order reference, declaration answers, typed signature, terms version, input data, generated results and date and time as evidence of the transaction.
9. Refunds
Because the personalised digital setup is generated for a specific bike, a change of mind will not normally qualify for a refund after supply has begun where the required consent and acknowledgement were given. Contact SkillsLoop if the service fails to generate, is inaccessible or appears materially incorrect. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
10. Responsibility and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SkillsLoop is not responsible for loss arising from inaccurate customer information, ignoring manufacturer limits, unsafe installation, poor maintenance, unsuitable testing or using a setup intended for another rider or bike. We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or rights that cannot legally be excluded.
11. Intellectual property
The questionnaire, calculations, explanations, report design and SkillsLoop content remain the intellectual property of SkillsLoop or its licensors. Customers may keep and print their own report for personal use.
12. Availability and changes
We may correct calculations, update guidance or temporarily suspend the service for maintenance or safety reasons. Material changes will not remove statutory rights relating to a completed purchase.
13. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Customers elsewhere in the UK retain any mandatory protections that apply to them. Questions or problems should be submitted through the contact details published on the SkillsLoop website.
